WALK MY WAY

Walk My Way is a project funded by Kiama Council's Cultural Arts Grant.  The project involved interviewing a broad cross-section of everyday people that live in the Kiama region, painting images of their shoes and writing the stories they shared.  Some stories were quirky, some were sad, some were inspirational and some were just funny!  All were empowering.

Sharing stories is a way for people to get to know each other, it helps form deeper connections of support, empathy and understanding within a communities.  It encourages social cohesion and can inspire, motivate and be used as a strategy for coping with adversity.

The project culminated in an exhibition at the Kiama Community Arts Centre together with the production of a book titled Walk My Way.
